SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. – San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow announced on Wednesday that a jury has found John Allen Webb Jr. guilty of conspiracy to possess fentanyl for sale, possession of fentanyl while armed with a loaded handgun, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, false personification of another, and possession of fentanyl while in jail.

The San Luis Obispo County jury also found that Webb induced others to participate in the conspiracy, that he held a position of leadership in that conspiracy, and that Webb committed the crimes while out on bail in a separate case state San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office.

Jurors heard evidence that Webb was arrested on Jun. 20, 2023, after San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies stopped his sale of around a half an ounce of fentanyl in the Chevron parking lot in the 400 block of Tefft Street in Nipomo detail San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office.

According to the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office, it was later found that Webb had discarded a stolen .40 caliber handgun before being contacted by deputies and that Webb had repeatedly provided the name of another person while questioned.

Once Webb was housed at the jail, it was determined that he was in possession of more fentanyl explain the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office.

Webb is currently scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 2, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. in Department 8 of the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court.
